A group consultation is when a doctor delivers a consultation to 6 to 8 women simultaneously. Everyone takes turns having a 10 minute 1-1 conversation with the doctor. The benefit is that other group members can listen and learn from the shared questions and answers. You can even get a prescription, if appropriate.
A well-researched approach to holistic healthcare, supported by the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine and Royal Colleges. Key pillars of lifestyle medicine include: physical activity and exercise, diet and nutrition, sleep, stress reduction, and mental health.
5 to 7 other women who are at a similar menopause stage as yourself and looking for advice or treatment.
You do! You'll receive personal medical advice from registered healthcare professionals specialising in menopause. HRT prescriptions are available too, if appropriate.
We work with specialists from the NHS to deliver personalised treatments. The team consists of doctors specialised in menopause care, dieticians, physiotherapists, and health coaches.
They’re suitable for anyone looking for menopause advice and those who are curious to learn from both clinicians and other women's experiences. Multiple sessions mean more in-depth conversations, diverse questions, and community building.
Research has shown that receiving medical advice in a group setting increases participant's satisfaction, while sharing experiences with others reduces feelings of isolation.
Yes. When you join the programme you must sign a confidentiality agreement, so what’s discussed in the group sessions stays in the group sessions. The information you share online with us is held in a GDPR compliant way, using the latest security software. Please see our Privacy Policy for further details.
If the internet becomes unstable for you or a Bia Care healthcare provider, we’ll reschedule the remaining time from the session or consultation. You won’t be charged again for this.
If we can’t fully address your healthcare needs (e.g. additional examinations, investigations or treatment), we’ll let you know and see you are referred to the correct place with all the accompanying information. This is most often your GP.
Of course. Our programme is open to anybody wanting to prepare for dealing with menopause—however in advance that may be and regardless of symptoms.
Absolutely. You can still implement beneficial lifestyle changes based on learnings from our programme. It can also be cathartic to debrief what you experienced in the past.
Not at the moment. Our programme is only for those with menopause symptoms or suspect they are experiencing menopause symptoms. Unfortunately we can’t treat general medical or women’s health issues.
People outside of the UK can't join at the moment. We hope to change this soon.
Yes, you can receive a private prescription through Bia Care. If you decide you’d like to receive hormone replacement therapy (HRT), a doctor will determine which type is most suitable for you and then provide you with a prescription.
This is known as telemedicine, which is the practice of delivering care remotely. Clinicians are permitted to provide diagnostic services to patients through online services. Prescriptions are dispensed through our pharmacy partner and delivered by 48-hour tracked Royal Mail.
HRT prescriptions last 3 months. Patients will receive 3 months worth of medication at a time.
We schedule a follow-up with you 2.5 months after you begin medication. Bia Care will review your response to your medication—checking in on symptom relief and any side effects. You will be able to renew your prescription so you can receive more medication. Depending on the response to your current regime, we may adjust your dose or change your medication. If your current regime is working well, we may renew your prescription for a year. Every 3 months you will check in with a doctor through a short phone call or the chat app.
You can always contact the Bia Care clinical team with any queries you have about your medication. Remember, it may take over 1 month after starting HRT before you can expect full symptomatic relief. If you would like to cancel your subscription, please email us at hello@bia.care at least 30 days before your subscription renewal date.
Definitely. After the consultation you will receive a personalised plan which includes advice on non-HRT treatment options, such as nutrition, physiotherapy, and mental health.
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is relevant during perimenopause & post menopause like hormonal birth control is pertinent during fertile years. So HRT is helpful to learn about as a treatment option, but it’s not desired by all women.
Currently payment is made through a one-time payment when you book your consultation. The cost of the consultation is £85 full price.
If you get an HRT prescription, you will be charged monthly by debit or credit card at the time you order it.
We'd be happy to answer it! Feel free to email us on support@bia.care or call us on 020 34888 536
